Refrigeration Supervisor/Engineer

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise the employees in the Refrigeration Department, ensuring proper maintenance, operation, and repair of the equipment and machinery related to the Refrigeration systems.
Specific duties include:
o Maintain and order parts and materials for the repair and upkeep of refrigeration equipment and machinery.
o Implement and maintain a preventative maintenance procedure of the equipment and machinery associated with the refrigeration systems.
o Hire, train, coordinate, and supervise refrigeration crew.
o Handle administrative functions related to the department.
o Have a complete understanding of, maintain, review, and promote compliance of the PSM, RMP and SOP programs.
o Have a high awareness of safety issues and hazards.
o Ability to report and correct safety issues and hazards.
o Special projects.
o Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
o While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
o The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
o The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
o Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
o The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
o The employee must climb stairs and ladders and negotiate catwalks, machinery platforms, and scaffolding.
o The employee must negotiate narrow accesses between operating machinery.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
o Knowledge in the maintenance and repair of a 3,700 hp ammonia refrigeration system.
o Knowledge in all safety and emergency response procedures associated with working with ammonia.
o Understanding and knowledge in electrical circuits, purgers, plate and frame heat exchangers, blast cell and plate freezers, brine tanks, box chillers, ice machines, and ice delivery systems.
o Ability to speak, read, and write in the English language.
o RETA CIRO certified/licensed.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
