Alaskan Leader Fisheries (ALF) is a leading longline company based out of Alaska looking for entry level and experienced crew members to work on board commercial fishing vessels.
ALF is looking for full-time, long term employees who are willing to work a rotating schedule throughout the year.
Duties include:
Set and haul an average of 240 tubs of longline gear per day Operate all deck machinery in a safe and responsible manner Load and unload freezers Handle lines while tying and untying boat Unload and back-load vessel Bleed fish Feed fish in header machines Proper preparation of fish products and fish byproducts Pan product to market specifications Load and unload product from freezers Bag and stow product in refrigerated holds Maintain longline gear (i.
e.
bend hooks, attach hooks and gangions, check for chaffed line, ect.
Break bait, stock hook and gangion rack Operate Combi Assist on deck, either running the roller or dip netting (2 hours per day minimum.
) Assist in factory when needed Assist in offloading product Backload bait, product bags, food, supplies, ect.
Help set gear when needed.
